Stick fight a Canboulay is part of the culture of Trinidad and Tobago.
It’s origin came from the days of slavery on the island when it was a British colony. “Canboulay is a celebration of resistance and emancipation which re-enacted the days when enslaved Africans were driven with cracking whips to put out fire on sugarcane plantations. Cane was burnt before…….” Today the stick fighting is used as a form of entertainment.
